Principal's Report

Phantom Galaxy - James Webb Telescope

Dear St John's Community,

Welcome back to the new school term! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break and the children are ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. The teachers are excited to have your children back in the classroom and we all look forward to a successful term.

Unlike last term, this one is a short one, only 9 weeks and four of those weeks are only 4 days long. So much to do in so little time! Why we can't just have four 10-week terms each year I'll never understand. I don't think many people have yet realised that Term 4 this year is 12-13 weeks long! Many of our students were cooked by week 8 in Term 1which was an 11-week term, imagine what they'll be like after 12 or 13 weeks!

Anyway, I digress. First of all, I'd like to say 'Alleluia', a glorious proclamation of Easter joy. it seems strange saying it so long after Easter but as it is Great Lent only finished a short time ago so I could still sneak it in.

I want to also thank Ms Patton and the school leaders and other senior student helpers who arranged for our Anzac Day Liturgy on the first day back to school this week. It was a lovely ceremony and was respectfully attended by everyone on the day.

Lest we forget.

Just a quick reminder that as the weather gets colder, it's time to switch from our summer to winter uniforms.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the winter uniform, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

Just a reminder that Mother's and Special Friends Day is coming up very quickly due to the change in the terms. Our Mother's Day Brekky will take place on Wednesday morning, 10th May and the Mother's Day Stall will be run on Friday, 12th May.

More details on these will be available early next week.

Our first Pilates session was well attended and the organisers were very pleased. Anyone is welcome to attend.

One of our mums, trained Clinical Pilates instructor, Francesca, runs the 50-minute classes in the school gym that are focused on core strength, spine mobility and flexibility, and body balance. Kids are welcome.

Each session cost $10 - Parents can sign in with Francesca in the gym. Please bring your own yoga mat.
