Thank you - P&C Mother’s Day Stall

Thank you to our P&C for their work in ordering and selling such a vast array of gifts for students to purchase at the Mother’s Day Stall. We very much acknowledge and appreciate the time it has taken to organise this activity for the benefit of students at our school.

I sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day in whichever form it took.

The next P&C Meeting will be held this week on Wednesday, 17th May, in the hall at 9.30am.

Cancer Council Fundraiser

On Wednesday, 24th May, we are hosting a Biggest Morning Tea for Parents and Carers to raise funds for the Cancer Council. The Morning Tea will be held in the hall from 9.30am. We ask that parents and carers wear something yellow and bring a gold coin donation.

We ask that students also wear something yellow on 24th May and bring a gold coin donation. Every dollar raised helps those impacted by cancer in the form of support for families, SunSmart school programs, cancer nurses and accommodation for people who need to travel for vital cancer treatment.

Pedestrian Safety

I am concerned for the safety of our students when crossing the road on Sandringham St before and after school. Frequently we are noticing parents/carers crossing with their children, between cars or in front of the cars on the bend (near gate 3) or not using the pedestrian crossing. Please set a good example for your children and use the crossing. There is an executive member of staff on duty on the pedestrian crossing each afternoon.

Content from Kidsafe NSW

'Many children below the age of 10 years do not have the capability or judgment to handle many pedestrian situations. Children need to be accompanied and closely supervised by a parent or adult carer to keep them safer.

Parents and caregivers have a key role in educating their children about road safety. Children learn about road safety largely by experience. Parents and adult carers have opportunities in day-to-day routines to discuss road safety with children on the way to the newsagent, local shop or going to school. Whenever crossing roads, it is an idea to talk about when and why it is safe to cross the road with your children so they can gain a good understanding of road safety issues.'
