Tell Them From Me Survey 2023

As part of our focus on school effectiveness, Our Lady of Fatima Primary School Caringbah will be participating in an online survey for parents, staff and students called  Tell Them From Me® (TTFM®).

The survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what each group thinks about school life, how engaged they are with the school and the different ways staff interact with them. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help them improve.

During the next few weeks, all staff, parents and students will be given the opportunity and time to participate in this survey. Students from Years 4-6 will complete the survey during regular school hours. Participants in the survey are provided with a random username and password to access and complete the survey online. Individual names cannot be linked to responses which allows input to be completely anonymous. Results will show all combined scores for each group – it is not possible to single out individuals in the results.

The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.  The survey link will be sent out to parents via Compass.

While participation in the survey is entirely voluntary, it is helpful to us as a school to ascertain student, staff and parent satisfaction data, so we can continue with successful practices and review those which do not enable us to work in partnership with one another as a Thriving Catholic Community. If you would like more information, please contact the school office.

Winter Uniform

All students are now wearing their full winter uniform. Boys may wear shorts with their long sleeve shirts. Parents, please ensure that your child/children have their hats daily and wear the correct school/sport shoes and socks.

A reminder that long hair needs to be tied back (this also includes boys/mullets and shaved hair designs are not recommended). Correct school shoes/sport shoes and socks are to be worn. A uniform reminder notice will be sent home next term if students are not wearing the correct school uniform.

Notre Dame Professional Experience Students

We welcome the practicum students from Notre Dame University this term and wish them every success with their professional teaching experience. The practicum teachers will be working collaboratively with teachers designing a variety of teaching and learning activities aligned with the Curriculum and National Professional Teaching Standards to engage the students in authentic learning experiences.

National Walk Safely To School Day

Friday, 19th May 2023 is "Walk Safely to School Day" which asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. Although walking to school daily isn’t realistic for many of us, it's quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine.

You can teach your child the healthy habit of walking more by:

  • Walking with them the whole way to school
  • If they get the bus or train, walk past your usual stop and get on at the next stop
  • If you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away from the school and walk the remainder of the way

Regular exercise, like walking with your child, not only helps them (and you!) beat chronic problems like obesity, heart disease, behavioural and mental health issues and diabetes. It also gives you a great opportunity to teach your child safe ways to behave around roads and traffic.

Remember, Active Kids are Healthy Kids so get planning your own Walk Safely to School Day journey for Friday 19 MAY 2023!
