Primary School Mother's Day Event

Primary School Mother’s Day High Tea

Our annual Mother’s Day High Tea is scheduled for Friday 12th May in session 5.  This is a highly anticipated afternoon for our primary mothers, guardians and special people in our students lives. If you are able to assist and support on the day please contact Casey Sperling who is overseeing the event.

Mother’s Day Stall

The college fundraising committee will be hosting the Mother's Day Stall for all Prep - Year 6 students this year. The stall will run over 2 days with Prep - Year 2 students purchasing on Monday 8th May and Year 3-6 students purchasing on Tuesday 9th May. All classes will be allocated a session to visit the stall over the 2 days and be able to purchase up to 2 gifts, gift bags and cards to celebrate Mother's Day. Prices for items range from $1.50 - $12.00.

Mother's Day Events - Helpers Needed

Coming up in May, there are a few special events for the primary classes to celebrate Mother's Day; a Mother's Day Stall, and a High Tea. We need volunteer helpers to assist our teaching team for both events, across 5 different sessions that week.

Sunday 7 May, 3-5pm: Mother's Day Stall set up

Monday 8 May, 9-12:30pm: Stall sales

Tuesday 9 May, 9-12:30pm: Stall sales

Friday 12 May, 9:30-11:30am: Scone making/Food preparation

Friday 12 May, 11:30-1:30pm: Food box assembly + distribution

Volunteering is a lovely way to meet other parents and staff at the school, while contributing to these events, which enrich the school experience for our students. If you can only give an hour, we'll roster you on! If you can attend the whole session, that's great too. Please let us know which day, and the time you would like to assist by emailing altonafundraisingcommittee@gmail.com

Note that all helpers will be required to have a valid Working With Children Check. Visit this website: How to apply | Working with Children to apply. For those volunteers assisting with food preparation in the morning of Friday May 12, we would appreciate you completing a 'Do Food Safely' certificate, Home - DoFoodSafely (health.vic.gov.au), which involves some reading, and an assessment (prior knowledge negates the need to do the reading). Please email a copy of your certificate to the email address above also.

Although these events are for the primary school students, we would love any College parents to join us.

Thank you, we hope to see you get involved.

Kind Regards,

The Fundraising Committee
