Sydney South West School Cricket

Aidan Cini

Near the end of last year I tried out for the school Campbelltown zone cricket team, which meant if I was successful, I could try out for the Regional team which I made. I played for the Regional Sydney South West cricket team.

On the 7th of March I played my first match for Sydney South west. It was a 50 over match and we lost to Polding by a lot. I batted at number 7 and got 16 runs.  My bowling figures were 0 for 20 off 6 overs.

On the second day we played against Riverina and won by 5 runs. I batted at number 6 and only scored 5 runs. My bowling figures were 0 for 15 of 8 overs.

The third game was another close game with us bowling them out with about 5 runs left for them to get. I got my first wicket for Sydney South West which was lbw [leg before wicket]. I also got my first catch for them. I got 4 runs that game.

The final game was only a 40 over match.

We bowled them out for 59 runs all together. I got a wicket by bowling the ball and my team mate caught the ball. Also a run out. My bowling figures were 1 for 15 off 5 overs. I opened the batting at number 2 and scored 33 runs to win the game.

Our class have been using Dash Bots to learn how to code.

They're so much fun!

Dash is an explorer who zips around the room, getting into mischief along the way. Using sensors, Dash can detect objects in front and behind, and hear where you are. This robot has quite the personality and becomes more capable as you program and play.
