Anti-bullying Day

Hi I’m Emma, this is Tess and Alexia. We are your 2020 Wellbeing Leaders.  Anti Bullying day is a really important day on our earth. It is coming up on the 20th of March.  The NDA (National Day of Action), held on the third Friday of March each year, is an opportunity for Australian schools to highlight their everyday work to stop bullying. Please wear a touch of yellow, pink or blue.  These colours represent friendship, and anti bullying. We will be sharing this video with the students from Years 3 to 6.

Alexia- Thank you for listening.

Trauma Informed Practice Professional Development

After school on Tuesday 3rd March, all of the staff together with Father Ian, Carmel, Members of the Board, Members from After Care and Members from the healthy Hut joined together to hear our presenter Hannah Weymes. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), years of experience in youth work, and is a qualified trainer of the Neurosequential Model in Education. She  has studied under Bruce Berry at the Child Trauma Academy.  We learnt about effective strategies to support each of our students at St Finbar's, to self regulate and how to promote optimal learning about the brain with the components of the brain. It was reaffirming to know that many of these strategies we already have in place.
