Future Focused Learning
It has been an extremely busy and exciting start to our 2022 Future Focused Learning (FFL) journey.
Classes across the school have began their work on 'Lesson Zero', in which students and teachers work together to unpack the achievement standard taken from the Victorian Curriculum. Lesson Zero aides students in reaching their destination by personalising their own learning and becoming significantly involved with their findings.
As part of our Professional Learning Committees (PLCs) teachers have had the opportunity to meet and work closely with Kathleen Baker-Brown, our FFL consultant, to plan and map our inquiry units. PLC leaders also meet with Kathleen, conducting professional learning to continue to guide and lead their teams on the FFL journey.
Teachers have had some very thought provoking online 'Office Hours' sessions in which we have been able to share the work we have been doing in our classrooms with schools and teachers right across the globe. It is exciting to see and hear the buzz that is happening around the school in FFL. Over the next few weeks teachers will continue to participate in Masterclasses run by Lee Crockett on Inquiry Learning and the importance of Learning Intentions and Success Criteria (Lesson Zero) in creating relevant and meaningful learning for our students.
The Future Focused Learning Committee is looking forward to continuing to work closely with Lee Crockett and Kathleen Baker Brown throughout the year to further extend our knowledge around Future Focused Learning.
