From Head of Junior School 

With term one well underway, there has been a lot happening in the realm of Student Leadership at Wyndham. We have roles such as School Captain and Vice Captains (Year 6), Sports House Captains and Vice Captains (Year 5 or 6) and Class Student Representative Council members (P- 7). These roles are taken very seriously and endeavor to help build and develop leadership potential in students. Students are also reminded that not everyone receives the title or the badge, but can lead from example without these and continue to rise in character and servanthood. As the Bible tells us “But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26.

At the end of last year, the handing over of the baton for the School Captains and Vice captains occurred. They will be involved in helping to lead the school and assisting to make our College an exciting place to come and learn.

Also, in recent times the Year 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to apply for the role of Sports House Captains. In these roles they assist in leading their designated sports group and help to plan and set up sport carnivals including cross country and athletics.

The 2022 Sports captains are:

Zion Capitan = Ceanna

Zion Vice Captain = Rishika

Bethel Capitan = Denver

Bethel Vice Captain = Alberto

Carmel Capitan = Samuel 

Carmel Vice Captain = Loyi

Tabor Capitan = Chloe

Tabor Vice Captain = Viraj

In addition, every year students from every year level have the chance to nominate for the role of class SRC (Student Representative Council). The SRC runs fundraising events throughout the year and acts on the suggestions and questions raised by the student body. Ideas, suggestions and requests for changes can be brought up at termly meetings.

Congratulations to all students who will be representing Wyndham Christian College in their leadership roles. I will be working closely with all students to help them to grow and develop their leadership potential.
