Clean Up Australia Day

The Green Team members of 2021 and 2022 headed down to Gardiners Creek on Friday to participate in Clean Up Australia Day. We found a large amount of rubbish, including many disposable masks, which would have otherwise ended up in the creek, harming our local wildlife.

On Sunday 6 March, about 80 volunteers including politicians, scouts and locals came to help clean up Gardiners Creek. We found six shopping trolleys and we found lots of mats and even a bike wheel. We filled lots of bags of rubbish and everyone did a great job. We started at 9:00am and finished at 12:30am.

This is the 17th year we have run this event and we have cleaned more and more rubbish every year.
