Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

It was a great and fun day to be in the kitchen on Monday! The students learnt how to make and cook vegetable gyoza’s. It was a little tricky with such delicate dough to work with, however the students did a wonderful job and they were a big hit! To accompany the gyozas, students learnt all about Israeli Cous Cous or Pearl Cous Cous. It was great to see all the students trying the cous cous even if they had never heard or eaten it before. We look forward to next Monday’s kitchen class for the years 4-6.

A big welcome to our new chickens!  How exciting to have 6 new Weeden Heights community members. Hopefully they will begin laying lots of eggs for students to use in kitchen sessions.  Thank you very much to all the wonderful families who have volunteered to be part of the chicken care roster.  We hope you enjoy the experience.

Some more thank yous…..

Thank you to Fiona Phillips our chicken parent representative.  Fiona is a contact point for families involved in the care of our chickens as well as a regular garden volunteer.

Thank you to the Black Family, Sharon is an enthusiastic garden volunteer during classes and has sourced materials and begun the repair of the leaky roof of the garden shipping container – a really big job!

Thank you to Abby Challis for the pea plants, they have been planted and are going well so far.
