Alumni Program Update

On Thursday 17th March, the Alumni Program welcomed back Zara Jarvis, Class of 2014, to inspire our Year 10 VET students and a few of our Year 12's on their career pathways. Zara, a vocal teacher, and owner of SoundCheck Studios offered plenty of practical advice about the music industry. She loved seeing some of her students from her studio and reminiscing about her time in the Robinson Centre. Here’s a bit more information about Zara and her time at Ballarat High.

“My best memories from high school definitely stemmed from all of my time in the music and drama department! I loved going on music camp, performing in the BOB Stage Band and traveling around to gigs! We did Grease the Musical when I was in Year 12 and I was lucky enough to play Sandy.”

“After leaving school, I took a gap year and then found myself landing a position as a Singing Teacher! I tried studying Education at University but didn’t complete the course.”

“After continuing to teach vocals for around 5 years, I decided to open my own business - SoundCheck Studios! We now have 13 staff members and over 150 students in both Australia and Overseas!”
