Children's Liturgy

St Brigid's Parish are planning to revive Children’s Liturgy in our Parish starting on Sunday, March 7th at the 11 am Mass. Children’s Liturgy provides families with an opportunity to come to Mass and allow both parents and children to comprehend the Word of God at their own level. Under the care of an adult leader, the children move to a separate area where they listen to a children’s friendly version of that Sunday’s gospel and are encouraged to respond in an appropriate way. At the same time, parents remain with the congregation and are fully able to concentrate on hearing the Gospel and relevant homily. After the creed, the children re-join the congregation where they can be with their parents and celebrate the liturgy of the Eucharist together. We hope Children’s Liturgy can be offered weekly at this Mass until we are able to return to “normal” pre covid numbers at St Patrick’s and the 9:30 am Mass which we understand is more family-friendly!
