Hospitality

Year 12

Year 12 Hospitality have been working hard and representing KHS with pride.

On 22nd February they catered for the Principals Network Meeting (20 local Principals and 4 Department of Education Directors). The menu included grazing boxes containing pulled pork sandwiches, chicken Caesar wraps, and Mediterranean roasted vegetable pita pockets, as well as a selection of sweets and slices. Everyone worked seamlessly as a team and the students received overwhelmingly positive feedback on both the quality of the food and their professionalism throughout the event.

On 1st March, the class traveled to the city to take part in a Barista Course. While here, they learned the ins and outs of espresso making and practiced making a wide range of coffees and hot drinks. Everyone learned a lot and their skills improved significantly throughout the day. The instructor was very impressed with the positive attitude and enthusiasm displayed by each of our students.

In week 9, three students completed their Work Placements. Aoibhe M, Matthew B, and Mohamed B spent the week working at Poles Patisserie, Panthers Group, and Gloria Jeans respectively. Each employer was highly impressed by the work ethic, maturity, and skills of their KHS employee and had nothing but positive feedback to report.

Well done Year 12 Hospitality, keep up the great work!
