Year 10 News

Work Experience

Just a reminder that Work Experience is happening Term 3 commencing Monday 13th – Friday 17th of September 2021.

Congratulations to the students that have already organised Work Experience and returned their forms to Cass.  

Work Experience forms were due this week, however Jennelle has been in all home groups over the last two weeks handing out Pink Work Experience Arrangement Forms and we have extended the return date to 11th of JunePlease note that forms will not be accepted after this date

WORK Experience forms MUST be signed by the employer, student and parent and returned to Cass before the deadline. Students who do not arrange Work Experience will be expected to attend normal classes at school.  

If you’d like assistance with Work Experience, or have any questions, please come to the RED CAREERS OFFICE.  The office is open to students from 8am before school, recess, lunch and after school until 4.15pm.   Extra copies of the Pink Work Experience forms can be collected from Cass or in the RED CAREERS OFFICE.

 

Steps 2 Success

Year 10 students have been participating in the Steps 2 Success program. This term we have been focused on financial awareness. Students are investigated super, managing budgets and financial planning for their futures. Well done to the year 10 students for developing some plans to save up something important to they!

 

Year 10 Exams

Year 10 students are currently finishing content of semester one and preparing for mid year exams held in June. Year 10 students will be attending a study skills session with Federation University, providing some helpful tips for students to prepare and learn study techniques.

A reminder, all year 10 students will have an early dismissal on both exam days. Please refer to the email for further details. 

Thursday 10th June – 1pm exam finish. Students to be off campus at 1:10pm. Friday 11th June - 12:30 exam finish. Students to be off campus at 12:40pm.

 

Precal

This term the Precal class has completed their Safe at Work course involving a guest speaker, First Aid training and certificate, Road Safety workshop and continue to work on their VET Active Volunteering certificate. Each class member has a free driving lesson due to their participation in the program. 

All these opportunities are building the students employability skills for their future pathways. More exciting incursions and excursions to come!

 

Career Action Plans

Reminder for all year 10 student to be completing their Career Action Plan via Career Tools. This is a requirement for all year 10 students to prepare for senior school. Parents and students received an email with instructions. Remember to book an interview with a member from the Careers team!
