ANZAC Bike Ride

Last Thursday, the 5/6 students took off and braved the elements to embark on the ANZAC Bike Ride. We began along Miners Rest Rd, and we were lucky enough to have Jeremy Hancock (Rebekah's Dad) and his partner on Highway Patrol, stop traffic for us as we crossed the Sunraysia Highway.

After a little over an hour, a couple of complaints and not too many falls, we finally reached our first destination. Students enjoyed a short recess break and the teachers were able to enjoy a hot 'cuppa'- thanks Simone!

After leaving the overpass, we started making our way to Weatherboard. Once arriving, we shared our stories of persistence and resilience of the day so far and the students began their video log tasks as well as collecting their items for Mrs Bleicher for art. After eating lunch, the students found a tree with a soldier's plaque, and wrote a letter to the soldier.

Overall, the students showed fantastic persistence and resilience throughout the day and should be so proud of how they represented the school.  A big thank you to our parents- Kylie Fawcett, Gerard Van Raaphorst and Leigh Jefferies, for helping out with the ride.

Check out some of the drone footage that Jeremy Hancock took during the first leg of the ride!
