Principal's message
Dear MGSC Community
I would like to say that it was an absolute pleasure to watch the students perform at the House Performance competition on Thursday. The competition allowed students to showcase their talents and gave teachers an opportunity to join in as well. There have been many rehearsals leading up to today and it really paid off.
What I found impressive was that the students cheered on all of the houses and there was such a positive feeling in the space. It is on days like this when we see how important it is for students to connect with each other and support each other. There wasn’t an opportunity for our students to have a whole school interaction last year whilst we were in lockdown and I think this was missed by them.
The House Captains did an outstanding job in co-ordinating their house members. There are around 250 students across all six year levels and the arrangements for drama, music, dance and the chosen house song was carefully organised. Even the teachers joined in with their Houses, making it even more fun.
Of course, I give my sincere thanks to the Performing Arts team who had a huge job to undertake today. Queuing up music and assisting students in their readiness to go on stage all takes time and talent, let alone the organisation leading up to the event. It was a perfect occasion.
Best wishes
