Robotics Club

Lego League Challenge

This year, the Robotics Club has seen a growth in student numbers with about 12 regular attending students during our weekly meet-ups.

With the growth in numbers comes the added initiative of attending robotics competitions. This year we are aiming to send our first ever team to theFirst Lego League Challenge. The challenge is open to students aged 8-16 years (as of 1 January 2021). This competition works by getting students to engage in research, problem-solving, coding and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. As part of Challenge, teams also participate in a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem.

This competition will start in August when the challenge is released to all participating teams. Teams will build and code their robots up till the Regional Tournament in late October to early November (date TBA). This Tournament will take place on a Saturday or Sunday.
