Last week the students in 1/2A planted their Discovery Garden

 plants. First, we read a story called 'Ben's Beans' and discussed the process of planting and monitoring growing plants.

The students carefully broke the paper and planted the seeds into their pots. Then they covered the seeds with more soil. They absolutely loved watching the soil expand when we added water.

We discussed what vegetable, herb or flower we each planted and how long it is expected to take to grow. We are currently keeping the pots in our classroom to watch them grow. Over the next few weeks, we will be completing lots of learning tasks related to our Discovery Garden plants.

The students in 1/2A loved this learning opportunity!
