Resource Centre

Donations

Over that last 6 months as a school community we have begun the process of freshening up our Library collection and clearing out resources that are no longer in use. At the end of last term we contacted Teresa Carlson of the Rotary Club of Echuca Moama to offer another donation of books from Moama Anglican Grammar. We donated a variety of well loved books that included textbooks, teacher resources, novels and picture story books.

New Resource Centre Arrivals

April Titles from Lamont Books

Other new arrivals

This month we have been able to order a few books to add to our complete series collections and to replace well loved books through the use of your Scholastics Rewards.

Scholastics rewards are earned when you place an order through the loop on line.

National Simultaneous Storytime

We are so excited about the National Simultaneous Storytime this year. All K-4s will be gathering in the Hall on Wednesday 19th May to participate in the live reading of the book "Give Me Some Space” by Phillip Bunting from the international space station by astronaut, Shannon Walker.

Mrs Price and Mrs Jepson have spent a lot of  time building a display in the Primary area of the Resource Centre featuring a space station and an astronaut. It looks fantastic!

Book Club

As previously stated we only run one book club a term. We will distribute Issue 4 once it arrives later this term. Orders need to be placed via LOOP (see below). We usually have the loop open for 1 week after we distribute the catalogues to the classroom.

If you would still like to explore Issue 3 you can access it on https://www.scholastic.com.au/book-club/book-club-home/

If you wish to place a order you can also do this through the LOOP App. You will need to factor in that the order will be sent to you home at cost to yourself of up to $5.

Premier's Reading Challenge

There has been a lot of interest from students wanting to sign up for the Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) this year which has been fantastic. Remember this is not a competition but rather a challenge for each student to read more often and more widely.  The aim is to develop a love of reading for leisure and pleasure. If your child/ren have participated in the program previously you can use the same username and password you used previously. If your child/ren are new to the challenge please contact Mrs Price and she will create an account for them.

If you have any questions please email our PRC coordinator Mrs Price.

The Challenge begins March 1 and concludes August 20. Please see the website for moredetails:https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html
