Secondary Athletics
The first leg of two days of athletics proved a tight affair in the house championship with Meninya coming out on top. It was a pleasant Autumn day that was conducive to excellent athletic performance. Well done to the age champions who all performed admirably and in most cases were pushed right to the last event. The BISSA team has been selected and will compete in Albury on the 2nd June, notes have gone home.

Primary Athletics
It was great to see the excellent participation rates of the students at the Primary aths, from the Primary students, and also the secondary Physical Activity and Sport Study (PASS) students and the Year 12 leaders.
It was a cracking day that had records, personal bests, and also fun. It was pointed out at the start of the day that all we wanted from students was to try their best, and that was definitely the case.
Well done to all age champions on the day and we will now pick a primary athletics team to compete in Albury on the 3rd of August.

Our 16th Foundation Day
On Wednesday we celebrated Moama Anglican Grammar's 16th Foundation Day.
An achievement we like to acknowledge each year with our Foundation day Ceremony, Sports Cup and our Foundation Day 100m Gift.
This year we were particularly honoured to invite local Yorta Yorta man Neil Morris to hold our first smoking ceremony onsite to commence our events.
We had special guests, The Right Reverend Donald Kirk, Bishop of Riverina and Alumni student Patrick Connally (Class of 2015) join us for the Ceremony. Pat, now a local Chiropractor, encouraged students to take the leap and dive into something new, as they never know what this challenge may bring them.
After the freezing conditions of the previous day, it was with a huge sigh of relief that Foundation Day turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day. The activities this year were run on the Main oval and it was a great sight to see all our students fill the new grandstand for their briefing prior to competition and during presentations.
The rotational activities this year included old favorites for the secondary students like the Lobster and new activities like the netball shot. For the Primary students we had the return of the Hula hoop competition and the introduction to one of my favorite party games, bobs and statues. Though the overall hit activity of the day had to be the goal post shot.
At the end of the day, Meninya was declared winner of the cup, however, as a couple of staff members said, it was great to see all the students having fun together, which 16 years ago was the reason why the afternoon was created.
