End of Day Dismissal

The Specialist team would like to notify families that students in Years One to Six who have PE, PA and VA in the last learning hour of the day will be dismissed with their bags from the Specialist classrooms. 

For families who collect these students outside of their regular classroom area, the Specialist teacher will walk the students back to greet their parents. Please refer to the timetable below: 

2021 House Captain, Performing Arts and Visual Arts Leadership Positions for Year 6 students

We are excited to announce that we are beginning our elections for all Specialist leadership positions from next week Monday 15th February. Please see the below dates and information pertaining to each leadership opportunity:

2021 House Captains

The female and male House Captain positions are chosen by student and staff votes within their house colours. Captaincy meetings will be held on Thursday 18th February at 2.30pm for students in Years One to Six. Students interested in the position are asked to prepare a speech out of school hours and deliver it to their peers at the captaincy meeting via WebEx. We ask that if students will be absent on this day that they prerecord their speech and give it to Ms. Allen in Room 15.

In addition to this process, we ask that students write an application letter addressed to Katherine and Mrs. Wood expressing why they would like to be house captain and the skills that they would bring to the position. Students are most welcome to use their speech when writing this application letter. We ask that students submit these to the office by the morning of Thursday 18th February.

Upon the results of the student and staff votes, highly voted students will be invited to attend an interview on Friday 19th February with Katherine. Successful students and their families will be notified and the 2021 House Captains will be announced on the same day at the whole school assembly. 

A badge presentation will be confirmed at a later date and will be dependent on restrictions.

2021 Performing and Visual Arts Captains

Following the election of our 2021 House Captains in Week Four, Mrs. Bleicher and Mrs. Polson will be following a similar leadership process in Week Five. 

We ask that students interested in applying for one or both of the positions submit one application letter per leadership role to the appropriate teacher. Please address your letter and submit to the office by end of the day on Monday 22nd February. 

Applications will be shortlisted and an interview process will be conducted the same week. Successful students and their families will be notified following the interview process. 

Students will be given a roles and responsibilities document and will be guided into their new roles by the Specialist teacher.
