Sr Kathleen Brennan ibvm

Sr Kathleen Brennan ibvm died peacefully Thursday morning 3 December 2020. She was much loved and admired.  Kathleen (Loreto Claremont Class 1939) grew up near Manjimup and entered the Convent on 11 February 1945 as Mother Benedicta. She taught at Loreto Nedlands 1955 - 1962, was the founding Principal of Thornlie Catholic Primary 1965-1970, the Community Leader and Principal of Loreto Nedlands 1971-1976, at John XXIII College 1988-1990 and Geraldton 1999-2005 as the Prison Chaplain. She retired to Success.

Kathleen spent her later years as a resident at Mercy Village Wembley in 2015.  As a mark of respect, Loreto Nedlands announced they had named a building after her; the Kathleen Brennan Early Childhood Learning Centre. Kathleen was not only a Loreto Sister, Pastoral carer and spiritual companion to people throughout Australia but also a daughter to Paul and Christina Brennan and sister to Sheila Faulkner nee Brennan (dec) and aunt to Mary Ann (Class 1975) and Matthew (Class 1988). May she rest in peace.

St Louis Football

A book is being prepared for print detailing the story of the ‘epic’ 1965 Under 18 St Louis Footy Premiership and also the complete history of St Louis teams in the Claremont Junior Football Council 1960 – 1969. It will  be full of photos, memories and interesting footy facts from those halcyon days. If you pulled on the Grey and Blue with the Eagle in Under 12s, 14s, 16s or 18s in that time you should appear in the book.

It is proposed to release this handsome publication at a St Louis Footy Reunion Lunch on Sunday 14 March  2021 at a hotel venue to be confirmed. If you have anything to contribute to the book by way of memories,  photos (or even facts!) please make contact with the author. Mark your calendars and spread the word so  that we can make it an enjoyable and memorable event. Paul de Pierres (St Louis 1966) pcdepierres@bigpond.com
