NEiTA 2020 AWARDS 

NEiTA 2020 Awards – Acknowledging exceptional educators in exceptional times. 

At Brighton Secondary College we are exceptionally fortunate to have one of our teaching staff Denis Overberg, who has been recognised for this prestigious award amongst teachers across Australia. 

From over 3,000 nominations Denis was awarded the NEiTA award for innovation in online learning along with 12 of his peers. This award was given to teachers who went the extra mile to support their students to learn online during school closure due to COVID.  

From this selected group a second award was presented to three of the members. Denis again was chosen for the Futurity Parents ‘Award in the Secondary School category. 

This award was only possible due to the generous nature of one our parents in nominating Denis for the award in the recognition of the difference he has made in their child’s education during this challenging year.
