Secondary School News
Welcome to 2021 in the secondary campus at Collingwood College.
Welcome to our new year 7/8 leader, Angela Watters and our 9/10 leader, Melanie Singleton. Melanie is a familiar face already at Collingwood and we are delighted to have her in this new leadership position. Angela has come to us from another large secondary school, Staughton College and she has worked in leadership roles there for the last eleven years. She is already very involved in her new role and enjoying the experience of Collingwood College.
A particular welcome to all our new Year 7 students and the many new students within all the other year levels.
There are a number of important events already planned for term 1, 2021 so please keep an eye on the calendars and the announcements in this newsletter and Compass. Some of the upcoming events are;
- Year 7 Information Evening, 18 February, (***please look out on Compass next week for updated news about this event)
- Swimming Carnival, 23 February
- Open Day, 24 March,
Jennifer Campbell is still in the role of Senior School Leader and Victoria DeRome is now in the position of year level manager and support for senior school students.

While Liria Stratus has stepped down from her leadership role she is still with us and will be working with the SRC and co-ordinating the lunchtime clubs as well as continuing to teach her classes. Thanks Liria for all the great work you have done in the secondary school over the last decade and more.
Our Community Liaison Officers, Hussein Ibrahim, Hassen Mohamed-Saeed and Badria Mustafa are back again this year and there is an introduction to them and their roles in this newsletter (Whole School News Page).
Please keep an eye out for announcements of upcoming community events that they will be organising.
We are of course very excited to all be back on site and enjoying the face to face learning and interactions. Please remember that secondary students and visitors as well as staff need to wear masks while inside.
Staff are able to remove masks when teaching or caring for students.
