Principal's Report

Principal's Report:

Class of 2018

The year is rapidly coming to a close. Year 12 students will attend classes at MSC for the last time on Thursday. It is the culmination of 13 years of education plus most would also have had one or perhaps two years at Kindergarten. It is an exciting time for them as they begin to make their way into the adult world. They will follow different pathways. Some will go straight into work, others to apprenticeships, traineeships, TAFE and University. Hopefully all of them will remember their time at MSC fondly and regularly catch up in the future. I remember when they first started at MSC and it is very rewarding to see them grow into capable and competent young people ready to do their part in society. I look forward to catching up in the future to hear of the travels, births, marriages, house purchases and the working lives of each of them post school. I wish them all the best for the future and look forward to celebrating with them, and their family and friends, at the whole school and parent assemblies, breakfast at school, morning tea with parents and the Valedictory Ball.

VCAL

Last week I attended the VCAL luncheon at the Connection, to celebrate with the students as they presented their projects to their peers, teachers, family and friends. I was immensely proud of our VCAL students as they stepped up to the plate, and performed well above expectations. The Year 12 students presentations set the standard with the Year 11’s closely behind. Year 12 VCAL for 2019 has been set the task to outshine the class of 2018. A big thankyou to all who were involved in teaching the VCAL students and for organising such a successful event.

Italian Day

Congratulations to Ms Ceravolo, Ms Tennant, our Year 8’s and the band who attended the successful “Italian Day” at Katandra West last Friday. Our school bands are excellent representatives of MSC’s music program, and have a number of events coming up.

Year 7 2019

We are currently arranging extra transition visits, and ensuring that the enrolment package is delivered to our prospective students as soon as possible. A big thankyou to Mrs Cornelius, Mr Townsend and Aileen Watson for their hard work in ensuring that there is a smooth transition to secondary education.

Japan Tour 2019

Expressions of interest for a visit to Oshu City late next year are being sought. If you are interested in being a part of the tour, please email the school email account. Enter Japan Tour 2019 in the subject line and include a phone number in the body of the message so I can contact you. If sufficient numbers show interest, then we will begin the organisation of the tour.
