Visit From Adam Bandt

Today our local Minister for Melbourne Adam Bandt came to speak to Year 6. Mr Bandt is an Australian politician, former industrial lawyer and acting Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens. Mr Bandt was elected to the Division of Melbourne in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Parliament of Australia, at the 2010 federal election. 

Our students were a captive and captivated audience and at the end of his presentation asked thoughtful and articulate questions regarding homelessness, Global Warming, ocean drilling and what action Mr Bandt is wanting to take to Parliament.

Mr Brandt also had the opportunity to read some student blogs and was impressed with their passionate attitudes and immense desire to talk about issues affecting young people and the world we live in.
