From Student to Staff

The College has been around for 44 years this year, and over this time it has changed, expanded and built up a community in which you are all involved in today. A number of our past students, since attending, have gone on to become valued staff members here at the College. Below is Mrs Monique Annetta (Daraio) reflection.

What years did you attend the College?

Kinder (2000) – Year 12 (2013).

What is your fondest memory of your years of being a student?

All the extra-curricular activities including camps, snow trips, and sporting events such as the Athletics Carnival, interschool sports, beach volleyball, etc.

What are some of the main differences about WCC now compared to when you attended?

The 1:1 Device Program, the Primary playground, the recent construction of the North Wing and extension to the oval wing.

What has never changed?

Mr Sheahan and all the classrooms have never changed!

How long have you been with the College and what is your role?

This is my first year employed at WCC as Learning Technology Coordinator and Primary Teacher.

What do you love most about your role/the WCC community?

I’ve enjoyed reconnecting with many familiar faces and getting to know the beautiful students.

Any final thoughts/reflections on your time at WCC over the years?

I'm very grateful for the teachers and staff who have contributed to moulding me into the person that I am today.

Being a teacher is an incredible profession as we get to speak into the lives of the next generation daily; it's something I’m truly proud to be a part of!
