Food Technology

On the 28th October the inaugural SEGAP "Teen Chef" competition was hosted at Killester with student teams from Kilbreda, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Sacred Hearts College and Killester. In the theme of "Masterchef", teams were given 90 minutes to produce a main course and a dessert. The competition was judged by Keith Jackson and Deb Foreman from the Australian Culinary Federation. ACF is a professional chef organisation that judges cooking competitions nationwide.

All of the teachers and judges were amazed at the level of cooking prowess displayed by the students. The final result was very close, however, the amazing Killester team of Phoebe Collins, Felicity Reichle, Angelia Folino, Jorja Long and Holly Waudby received a gold medal and first prize in the competition.I would like to thank Sally Buick for supporting the competition, the SEGAP schools participating, ACF in judging, Amy Tran  for photography, Sallie Tran for marketing and Vi Lam for the audio visual equipment. Special thanks go to Eva Kordupel for supervising and last but not least Lucy Collins for organising food and equipment and supporting the students.
