The SEED Track  Club

One of the most exciting initiatives I have been involved in has been the Student Led SEED Track Club which happens weekly at the Goldsworthy Reserve . A great partnership with Corio Little Aths and CoGG allows us to use the track on Friday mornings.  Coaches Graham Watkins and Mark McDowell work brilliantly with our enthusiastic young people.

Special Athletic Tops have been printed for the students who have already progressed in outcomes and it has only been a few weeks. The session is open to all secondary students from our 5 campuses. They just have to get to Goldsworthy and be back at their own campus by start of school day with parental consent.

Cricket

Since we began our relationship with the Lords Taverners we have had a great focus on cricket. We were given funds by them for our professional quality crocket nets at Goldsworthy and also some cricket tops with the Taverners Logo. Their generosity is terrific. One of the rotations in the Year 7 / 8 SEED program is cricke and the photos below who both the enthusiastic SEED students and the proud Cricket stars in their new tops

SEEDLINGS

Seedlings are the Year 6 students who we hope will rise to excellence in Years 7 and 8 in their chosen sport / sports.

The Year 6 cohort at the local lightning premiership were terrific - especially badminton and two rising stars excelled and will continue onto higher levels of competition.

Congratulations

... to our Regional Athletics winners:

  • Suluxmi - A gold medal in Long Jump and 4th place in 100m finals
  • Kobi - Gold medals in- 100m, 200m and shot put in the Multi Class

Onwards now to the State finals soon. The college wishes them both the very best.

It is very exciting to have been invited to send students to work as volunteers at these International Beach Volleyball championships. There is a squad of multicultural students going one day and the Karen / Karenni community have also volunteered to go down to Torquay. Any of our community can volunteer so please consider being part of this massive event. It could lead to your interest in being part of the Volunteer Team at the Commonwealth Games in Geelong in 2026.

Please look at the Community Page for details of registering as a volunteer.

Our wonderful Karen / Karenni local community group love being involved in community activities.

We get many notices from Clubs asking us to support or advertise activities for children. We do try to highlight opportunities for local groups.
