'Reality Cheque'

Last week we held our long-anticipated School Production of Reality Cheque at the Alexander Theatre. What a fantastic two nights for our students and school community. All of the hard work from students and staff really paid off. We would like to say thank you to the wonderfully talented students in the main cast for their performances – lines were delivered perfectly. Class items were sung with gusto and danced with enthusiasm which was also great to see.

We would also like to reiterate our thanks to all the staff who helped with the production, such events cannot happen without their time and effort. Thank you to parents who supported in attending the performances, dropping off and collecting their children over the two nights.

This was a great community event and we look forward to our next production in 2024!

A special mention to Debra Hong and Sharyn Newstead who were our production directors.

Footy Fever Day

As is tradition at Camelot Rise, the last day of term 3 is Footy Fever Day. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their favourite team’s colours. This can be from any sport.

We will be holding a parade around the basketball courts between 1:45 – 2:30pm where we will play the theme songs for the different teams.

Think U Know Presentation

Camelot Rise will be hosting a ThinkUKnow presentation on Wednesday, 5th October and all parents and carers are encouraged to attend.

ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence based education program delivered nationally to prevent online child sexual exploitation.

ThinkUKnow Australia is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Microsoft Australia, Datacom and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The program is delivered in collaboration with policing partners New South Wales Police Force, Northern Territory Police, Queensland Police, South Australia Police, Tasmania Police, Western Australia Police, as well as Neighbourhood Watch Australasia.

The presentation will be delivered by a local law enforcement member and an industry volunteer. The presentation is pro-technology and addresses topics including self-generated child abuse material, online grooming, image-based abuse, sexual extortion, and importantly encourages help seeking behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about young people and the online environment, and how you can help them to be safe and responsible users of technology.

We welcome the community using our facilities during the holiday break as it is great seeing children and families being active and playing outdoors, however, if you see anyone acting suspiciously or inappropriately around the school grounds please contact the Glen Waverly Police Station 9566 1555 or contact 000.
