Chaplain’s Spot

Where do we go when life gets tough?

I took the above picture on my walk along Dandenong creek during the holidays.

The walking track and bike track along the creek are some of my favourite places to go outside, exercise, get fresh air, meet people, and help my mind to be refreshed.

A family in our GRPS community had a loss over the holiday break. Thankfully, they are surrounded by family and friends from their community. Family and friends are very important, especially during such difficult times.

I wonder what strategies you use when life becomes difficult for you. A few months ago, I created an A-Z Calm Down strategies wheel, with a strategy for every letter. If you would like one, I could email one for your family. It could be ‘wheely’ helpful!

Take care everyone. Make the most of every day.

Do as many positive things as you can, to brighten the day for others and for yourself. We only have one life. A lot of it we cannot control, but our response is something we can usually control. Let’s make the best of what we have.

THANKS:

Thank you especially to Kerry Best who helped to get our second- hand uniforms in order, and for those who helped at our 2 days of sales. Also, thanks to those who have provided uniform items that are no longer needed in their family. Around $200 was raised for the school. We will continue to make the items available on Toast Tuesday mornings.

Reminders:

Thank you to those who have offered to help at Toast Tuesday, or to cook a meal for a needy family.  The links for these initiatives are as follows:

Please feel free to contact me via Compass, or at school, if there is anything you would like to discuss. I am here to support our school community with whatever is challenging us.
