Congratulations to Year 9 student Ava Sole on the successful completion of the Youth Leader Program with Zoos Victoria.  Ava applied for the program with the help of the Careers Team at MSC and was fortunate to be awarded a full scholarship of $1500 to cover program costs.  Ava attended 11 full day workshops at Zoo locations across Victoria from April through to September and had a graduation ceremony at the completion of the program.  Youth Leaders were involved in real projects being run by the Zoos Victoria Community Conservation team.  Throughout the program Youth Leaders were able to develop their scientific knowledge and skills alongside leadership, communication, project management and real-world problem solving.  Ava participated in real-life research into plastics litter, this research was used to design a campaign targeting the reduction of plastics litter within secondary schools to better the environment.  Ava has also been successful in securing Year 10 Work Experience Placement for next year. We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Ava for her work as a Youth Leader for Zoos Victoria.
