Charlotte Brew

Meet Miss Brew, She/Her.

She has worked at Heathmont College for 4 years. She is an English teacher for Years 8, 10 and 12 as well as being the English Coordinator. She said, “Seeing students succeed and understand things they once found impossible to work out is by far the most rewarding thing.” Realistically teachers need time to wind down too. Miss Brew winds down by going home, scrolling through Tik Tok and cuddle with her cat.

Everyone has the funny memories, so we had to ask about Miss Brew’s.

I had an awesome childhood all round, I lived on a farm with 3 siblings close to my age so there was always something to do, it's hard to think of one fondest memory. I can think of my funniest childhood memory which was when we were playing 'knock out' which is a game where you ride your bikes in circles around a concrete block trying to 'knock' another person's wheels out of the circle until you were the winner. We would all get quite heated and aggressive, and Dad used to join in (even when Mum said not to do it) and him and I ganged up on my brother and he fell off his bike and knocked his teeth out, so we never got to play knock out again...

Miss brew also likes sports. She enjoys watching figure skating and bouldering but says her favourite sports to play is either Netball or Bouldering. When she was younger, she aspired to be…

an actress (I can't act) or a singer (I can't sing). I just wanted to be famous when I was growing up but now I couldn't think of anything worse.

Now some more questions!

English, Indonesian and Music

How many languages do you speak?

Skiing and bouldering

I used to play piano and for a while I was trying to be a concert pianist, but the exams for it are ridiculously stressful and caused my hair to start falling out when I was 17 so I quit and I haven't really played since.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

I hate karaoke with an absolute passion but if I had to it would be All Too Well (10 minute version) by Taylor Swift

If you could choose to be anything for a day, what would it be?

I'd love to work with chimpanzees for a day or follow the Irwins around Australia Zoo.

Either a Grilld Burger and chips or Pad Thai
