Captain's Reports

“What a year it’s been! Thankfully, for once lockdowns haven’t been part of it!! Some of my highlights include the Indigenous day out in the city, the Year 12 camp and, of course, all the memories I have made with my cohort across the year. Even approaching the exam period, many more exciting times to come, including Valedictory!! I’ve been so lucky and so thankful to be one of your College Captains this year, and I’m so thankful to have been able to experience everything there is to experience with my high school experience at Heathmont College! Wishing everyone doing units 3/4 subject the best of luck with exams, we’ve got this!” 😊

Since this will be our last contribution to this newsletter, I’ll start with saying, like my fellow captains, it has been amazing to represent everyone at Heathmont College for the year. The four of us have had great opportunities and I’m sure we’ll hold on to what we’ve learned for the rest of our lives. To anyone thinking of applying for a College Captain position in the future or any opportunity that comes your way, just go for it as you never know what you could achieve unless you just simply have a try.

As the end of the year comes closer, give yourself a chance to reflect on what you’ve accomplished and enjoy the memories of highlights from the year, such as sports events or camps. It’s not over just yet though, so good luck to everyone as end of year exams approach! It will be such a good feeling when all the hard work from the year pays off.

Hey hey, for the last time!

I cannot believe the time is almost here, that us year twelves are nearly done for good! It has been a hell of a ride for my 6 years at Heathmont and I truly owe this all to the awesome staff and students at Heathmont and the experiences the school has provided. I am so beyond grateful to be able to have had the opportunity of being your captain this year, it has been an honour. For myself, some of my favourite memories of this year have included the year 12 camp, sporting days and free period shenanigans, these are times I will never forget. I don’t know how I would have gotten through this year without my fellow cohort so thank you all, I cannot wait to see you go onto the next chapters of your lives and am so excited for us to finish what we started together. You all have truly made this the best year twelve experience it could have possibly been.

Adios and chookas for exams!
