Week 10 Extravaganza!
Week 10 Extravaganza!
During the final week of term 3, the students and staff were invited to participate in a number of activities run across the school.
Run by the House Leaders, activities ranged from lip-sync battles, debates, video game competitions, a house dodgeball competition and finished with a colour run/explosion!
Highlights included Mrs Hatfield’s rendition of ‘Hopelessly devoted to you,’ a number of strong student performances in a VCAL lead dodgeball competition as well as a hotly contested debate over whether or not students should be allowed to wear puffer jackets to school. It is worth mentioning the students came out on top of the teachers in both debates in a sign of their diligence and dedication to the task! Then of course, was the huge ending to the week with the massive colour run / explosion!! See below for a video of the afternoon and heaps of photos.
It was extremely pleasing to see a number of students participate and attend these events- the connection to community throughout this final week has been incredible.
Thanks must also go to the staff who have volunteered their time to make these events happen- even if that meant they were hit with a dodgeball or fist full of colour dust!

Lip Sync Battle
During the last week of term, a variety of activities were organised by the house leaders which included a lip sync battle. The competition began with a fantastic performance from Mrs. Hatfield completing a simply wonderful performance of Olivia Newton-John’s song Hopelessly devoted to you. Mrs. Hatfield was outstanding on stage and even brought her friend, Mr. McFadden along with her. Next up was Miss Growse and Mrs. Vance he did a brilliant duet of Don’t go breaking my heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee. They were awesome! Next up was Mr. Givens Lamb who crushed his rendition of Don’t stop believin’ by Journey, a very impressive performance! Next was Mr. Holland who got on stage and performed All the small things by Blink-182, he certainly had the crowd bopping their heads! Last but certainly not least was Mr. Lynch who morphed into The Fresh Prince as he rapped and rhymed The Fresh Prince of Bel-air, which was an all-time classic!
All in all, the teachers did a fantastic job at entertaining the crowd and getting the students out of their seats. Well done to all who performed, however, there could only be one winner who was crowned based on the loudest roar from the crowd. Mrs. Hatfield was crowned the winner after she received overwhelming cheer from the 100+ students who packed out the HOPE centre.
