Volleyball – Our Journey

Nash Fuga & James Dunks (Dunkley)

The very Beginning

It all started back in term one where Sally set up the volleyball net and some students ranging from four to six were eager to give it a go.

Over the coming terms we (Hunter, Harry, Izyaha, Saskia, Hazel, Sophie, Nash, Gabe, James and Mack) would share in a game or two during recess and lunch. Without even realising we became quite the team. That’s how it all began

District

As we drove to Millgate Primary School to play in the district volleyball tournament, nerves were high as we knew the competition would be tough. We played four games altogether dropping only two sets for the whole tournament. In the end we came out victorious against Serpell Primary School. We were happy to be winners of the district! Our team felt proud to represent the red, white and blue!

Division

As our confidence as a team grew, we had a lot of belief in ourselves and felt very grateful for the opportunity to be representing WPS at division. We played Donvale Christian College who put up a great fight. The game started evenly as both teams had won a set each. This meant that in the third set we needed to give our very best, so that we could come home with the win. Let’s just say the effort paid off and we won division in the third set 21-12. NOW WE’RE HEADING TO THE REGONIAL FINALS!

We would like to give big thank you to Sally, Kristy Fuga and all our classmates for cheering us along the way!
