JUDO KUDOS FOR EVAN CHEN

Evan Chen of Year 8 has shown incredible dedication, discipline and skill this year to achieve great heights in the world of Judo.

In June this year, Evan competed in the 2022 National Championships, against students from across the country and was awarded the Gold Medal in the under 50 kg division.

As a student of Taketani Judo Academy, Evan is considered one of the best Judo athletes of his level in Australia. He was recently awarded his brown belt, a significant and important rank. Brown belt students have committed to the path of learning Judo and at this level, have learned more than half of the body of Judo techniques.

Modern Judo is both a sport and martial art with a strict code of values. Self-control, honour, patience, honesty, courage, friendship, courtesy, humility and respect.

Evan Chen has shown himself a skilled athlete, not only for his 2022 ranking achievements but also for the high esteem in which he is held by his coach and senior ranking officials.

Congratulations Evan. You have done yourself, your coaches and your school proud.
