From the Principal

Week 1 Term4 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Term 4. I trust all families had a wonderful holiday, whether that was through travelling or simply staying at home and relaxing.

During Term 4 the students will be involved in many extra curricular activities.  I ask that you please refer to the calendar and mark any dates that apply to  your child or children into your own Calendar. This year we will see the return of the Christmas market ( which we havent had for the past two years).   There are lots of things happening  for everyone this term.

Colour Run

On Thursday the 20th October  all students will be involved in our "Colour Fun Run"  The Parents and Friends have provided all the families with information regarding the event. Money raised will go towards improvements to our playground.  Parents are encouraged to  come and watch the fun.  Please refer to the colour fun run section of this weeks newsletter for further information.

Confirmation

Last night and tonight, candidates from our school and parish have/will be celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation.  The Episcopal Vicar for Eastern Region  Tony Kerin along with Fr John will be the celebrants for both masses.  We wish all the candidates a wonderful evening.

Long Service Leave.

We will have two staff members taking Long Service Leave over the coming weeks. Bernadette Reed will be on long service  leave for the next 6 weeks. She will be replaced by Judy Crow Conway during this time.

Stephen Walsh will also be taking just over a weeks long serive leave starting from next week. Mrs Rosemary Cussen will be taking 2S during this time.  Both Judy and Rosemary are very familiar with our school and the routines. We hope Stephen and Bernadette enjoy their leave.

Educational  Considerations 2023/ class placements ( repeat)

Planning for 2023  is well underway. As in previous years I ask that if there are any Educational considerations from parents that they please be emailed to myself by the 14th October. Educational considerations are exactly what the name states. They are considerations that add to the information that the teachers already have on a child when deciding where to place them for the following year.

There is a lot of time and thought that goes into the placement of each child each year.

Yr 1/2 Excursion

The students in Yrs 1 and 2  attended an excursion to Ceres on Tuesdsay. According to all  reports the children had a great time. From the photos it looks like they did.

COVID 19

There have been reports in the media about the upcoming changes to COVID 19 isolation rules. At this stage schools have not been provided with any updates and we will continue to put into place the current COVID safe plan.   Over the next few weeks we will be sending home with each child a box ( or 2) of RATS. I will keep you informed of any changes when we are notified.

Have a great week

Brian
