It has been another busy week in the residence.

Last weekend saw the students and staff head off to the movies Friday night to enjoy an evening out.

Saturday saw everyone travel down south to the Yallingup Maze.  Walking through the maze was quite challenging for som. Mr Jones was thinking of “Torching“ it at one point but did manage to find his way out in the end.  Next was mini golf which resulted in lots of laughs from everyone who participated and from all reports was enjoyed immensely.

We had some Day students on the Dairy roster, so the afternoon was a far more leisurely return trip than normal, allowing for some shopping and sightseeing on the way back.

On Saturday evening fun was had around the table whilst undertaking some very amusing games of cards.  All those participating had a great time.

Sunday was a more leisurely day here onsite cooking damper in the fire pit.

On Monday night the town basketball competition saw the boys' team lead for most of the night, only to be over run in the finish. The girls are split over several teams and had mixed success.

Bus Service

There is a new TRANSWA bus service that will run through to Manjimup starting Friday the 28th October.

We are going to try and meet this bus to assist parents and guardians, however it will be a very tight timeline. School finishes at 2.25pm and the bus pickup is 3.03pm at the Binningup Beach collection point.  Adding to the tight timeline, we need to transport the South West Coach students on the same bus, as we do not have the staff available to run two buses to two different drop off points.

This will require a whole new education of the South West Coach Line students as currently they enjoy a leisurely 40 - minute break after school before being required to be at the office for departure. We are therefore going to have to work with these students to have all their belongings in the office ready for departure immediately after school finishes.

We will also need to ask that the other students hold back a little at this critical departure time, so as we can ensure all students on the bus have no impediments to exiting the College in the quickest possible time frame. Thank you to everyone in anticipation of your assistance in the new process.

We had a lovely email from the Harvey Netball association over the term break.

Good morning

On behalf of the Harvey Netball Association I would like to thank your school for the support you have provided our club, in particular the Green Shirt Umpiring Program this season.

I had the pleasure of working with your students Ava Hainsworth, Bethany Rutten, Madison Byrnes-Peters and Millah Gray, whom all showed maturity, respect for themselves and their school, and dedication for the program.

It was a pleasure working with your students throughout the season and I look forward to continuing to support these girls and future participants from your school in their netball and umpiring journey.

Thank you also to your staff, in particular those whom were responsible for transporting the girls to and from their lessons. Their support was greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
