AWI Shearing

Last week, Kevin Gellatly and Amanda Davis spent four days at the College training students in shearing and wool handling.  Yesterday, two ex-students Tristan White and Ethan Gellatly kindly donated their time to attend the College to assist Mr Adams with shearer training.

Pastures

Paddock preparation is underway on 7 ha of surface irrigation on the south side of the Farm so we can plant a maize crop this summer.  The aim is to make maize silage next year to feed to our dairy herd in Autumn.

Hay and silage making has also be continuing this week with Mr Falkingham and Mr Morris training students in the operation of the mower, tedder, raking, baling and silage wrapping. Our hay programme has been held up due to some showers of rain, but will hopefully commence again next Monday.

Good luck to all students competing at the Brunswick Show with results being published in next week's wrap.
