What we have been up to…

Well, we are all back in term 4 after term holidays full of energy and ready for fun learning and I am here looking after Blackburn P.S. while Beth is away for two weeks on placement as part of her studies

The children of all ages and gender love to play with the Lego – the benefits of this are myriad e.g., stimulates their imagination/creativity, motor skills from handling the various size pieces, socialisation and relationships as it usually involves several children working together on a plan and design.

Skipping singly and in groups has been another popular activity – enhances/builds coordination, healthy exercise, socialisation and relationships again and it is FUN !

Playground as always is popular. Children again socialize, do exercise without realizing it, show you tricks and things they have learnt such as the “no hands balancing beam” and “how many bars can I skip” on monkey bars- challenge without realizing it.

The children again all ages and genders love to be given responsibility opportunities e.g., at ASC snack time. Can I give out the empty plates and fruit platters - socializing and cleanliness ? Can I be a server – teamwork, socialising, showing initiative and ability to understand and follow directions and cleanliness of hands

Communications:

  • Holiday Program was again a success
  • We are continuing to encourage social distancing and handwashing for the kids during service. We have some additional RAT tests for families who would like to take some.
  • We continue to enforce no running inside to avoid accidents – children forget so quickly and do not realise the “dangers” present – “it won’t happen to me”
  • Parents and carers, please continue to sign your children in/out. There is sanitizer at the sign in desk for your convenience.
