Year 4 Report

 What an incredible year we have had. The Grade 4 teachers are so proud. We wish all the Grade 4 students and their families a safe and well deserved break.  Happy Holidays!!

We finally met our Pen Pals! What an amazing day filled with teamwork and games!

We went to Dallas Brooks Primary School for some awesome Sphero activities!

Literacy

During Term 4 in Literacy, students have been exploring biographies. They were exposed to a range of biographies about many people from all over the world, that include orientation, chronological order of life events, family background, education, career, and achievements. Students wrote many biographies that included the many different language features such as past tense verbs, time connectives, emotive language and cause and effect connectives. Students also explored the features of information reports and created many of their own.

Information Reports

Numeracy

During Term 4 in Numeracy, students explored a range of different focus areas including fractions, angles, mapping, and data. Our Maths lessons aim to engage the students learning of concepts and skills through games, hands on activities and technology. This term, students had the opportunity to complete some open-ended maths challenge activities. We are incredibly proud of the effort and perseverance that the Grade 4 students have shown.

Inquiry

During Term 4 in Inquiry, students explored Australia and its neighbouring countries. This included Indonesia, Papa New Guinea, New Zealand, East Timor, Fiji and more. Students researched the characteristics and environment of these countries and created information reports for each country.
