Dear Parents,

Wow!  Well, what a wonderful spectacle to have all 479 children from Bathurst Public School on the stage performing at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre to wonderful crowds yesterday. Congratulations to all of the children and staff - you truly are magnificent.

As a Principal, you have times in your career when you have to pinch yourself to make sure something is really happening. Overwhelming pride, emotion and disbelief are some of the words when I look at yesterday and reflect on the incredible performances of each and every child, the smiles on their faces, the happiness and, of course, what our sensational staff were able to put together. Thank you does't seem a strong enough word to express my deepest gratitude to our incredible staff. They have gone above and beyond. Thank you, all.

Thank you also must be extended to Jordan Boney for his work with the Aboriginal Dance group, to our High School students who have supported our concert as stage hands, the BMEC staff – the ushers, technical people (Donald, Harriet, Bannon, Harry and Dominic) and the box office and front of house staff. They have all been terrific and their work, expertise and patience have ensured our Concert was a great success.

Thank you to the parents and friends of our school who attended the Concerts. Our children have been so excited to perform for yo,u and your cheering, clapping and encouragement definitely brought the best out in our children yesterday.  I know you would be as proud as I am of the children and staff.

Congratulations to Hannah and Amira on their recent selection in the Western PSSA girls Cricket Team. We are extremely proud of the girls and their selection.

Congratulations to Tom on his recent selection in the Western PSSA boys Cricket Team. We are extremely proud of Tom's selection.

Our school cricket team played Tamworth PS in Coonabarabran on Monday. Our team had a slow start but came back and really fought hard. We were beaten by Tamworth PS at the end of the day, but our team played hard, dug deep and gave Tamworth a real run for their money. Well done BPS and Mr Thackray. We are so proud of you all. To be the 2022 Western Cricket Champions is incredible.

Tomorrow, Friday 25th November is an important day for BPS. It is when our school will hear the speeches from our 2023 School Captain nominees and vote. We ask our Year 5 Captain nominees to wear their full school uniform for speeches and have clothes they can change into after speeches are completed (as Friday 25th November is a free dress day). These speeches will be held at 9.30am in the McMullen Hall. Parents are welcome to attend. Please QR code in at the George Street entrance. We will also hold house meetings in the afternoon, and again children will vote for their house leaders in 2023.

Our School Mini Fete will be held tomorrow, Friday 25th November from 11.30-1.00. It is a free dress day, so children do not need to wear school uniform. Children are asked not to wear thongs to school.

If any parent has any queries about any aspect of school life, please contact the school.
