With the arrival of STS awards, students who participated in this year’s Science Talent Search will be acknowledged at next week’s assembly (21 Nov) when they are presented with their certificates and medallions.

Dash Robots

There has been much excitement in the air over the past two weeks as students from all year levels have become acquainted with their Dash robot. 

Preps are using Lego to build a stretcher and then coding Dash to transport an injured furry friend to safety.       

Year 1/2 students are coding Dash to make their way through a maze where they can locate the adaptations required for their allocated animal to survive the environment in which they live.

Year 3/4 students are creating dichotomous keys to classify animals and then using this information to create an algorithm which will allow Dash to identify unknown animals.

Year 5/6 students are coding Dash for a class activity which simulates natural selection and adaptation.
