Skill Up

Students from Year 11 and 12 VCAL have been given the opportunity to participate in the Skill Up program weekly throughout Term 2, 3 and 4. This program was funded through The Industry Training Hub and training provided by GoTafe Shepparton.

Skill up was an initiative to meet the needs of employer skill shortages and college outcomes. Course focus is on the Building & Construction, Engineering and Agriculture industries.

Students completed units from these three disciplines including, for example, tractor and quad bike operations, measuring/leveling, power tools, Construction Induction (CI) card training, working at heights and much more. They also made fabulous connections with employers through industry tours and mentoring opportunities.
