Music 

This month we urge you to take the opportunity to be present in the Simons Auditorium for performances from not one, but two incredible ensembles, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and the Australian String Quartet. 

Both are highly recognised ensembles and will work with our students and present concerts for the community in the Kantor Family Music and Performing Arts Centre.  See dates below, tickets for both concerts are free and please book ASAP.

Australian Brandenburg Orchestra

The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra presents a musical fusion of French elegance, Italian passion and German rigour.  As exponents of music from the Baroque Period (1600-1750) the orchestra, named after the famous Bach Brandenburg Concertos (a collection of six instrumental works presented by Bach to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721.) will present works by Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann, the fathers of the Baroque style.  Bernini marbles, Rembrandt’s paintings and The Palace of Versailles might provide a hint to the immense wealth of the ruling classes during the Baroque period.  Such splendid palaces demanded magnificent court entertainment. Most courtiers did no real work and did whatever they could to avoid boredom. Hence a huge demand for new and exciting music; the music of the Baroque. The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra rarely tour Victoria and this tour takes in Geelong, Daylesford, Echuca, and Hamilton.  How blessed are we?
