NETBALL

Last Saturday, the U18 College team played against Monivae Green. The girls started the game off strongly, with Georgia Baker-Miller and Neve McClure shooting accurately in goals; this continued and with finished with a combined score of 40 goals for the game. All girls had great movement on the court with strong passes, leaving little chance for the opposition to intercept the play. The combinations through the mid-court worked well, and defensively we managed to create plenty of turnovers. It is great to see that each week the girls are playing better as a team and are passing the ball down the court well. Thank you to Laura Michelmore for filling in.

The U15 girls started their game against Monivae Blue with great conviction and never looked troubled. After weeks of working hard at their skills it was great to see accurate passing, attacking the ball in both offence and defence, and they worked together for four quarters as a team in their best game of the season. Ava Murrihy, Isla Reilly and Pepper Bowes worked well together in the ring and scored 31 goals between them. Lily Giles, Sophie (Whitehead) and Tilda Whitehead brought the ball down consistently and defended any offensive turnovers. Sophie (Spence) and Belle Wallis put a lot of pressure on the Monivae goal shooters, keeping them to 11 goals for the game. Well done, girls!
