Boarding

It’s cool and chill! Our Boarding Captains are kicking goals.

At our weekly meetings with Sarah and Henry, I asked them how they would describe the Boarding House and what they would like to achieve in 2023. Interestingly, they described our culture as one that is ‘cool and chill with each other’, it is a place that is ‘relaxing and where we all just get along’.

The Boarding House, commonly referred to as the ‘Boardo’, is certainly a lively place to be. Both Sarah and Henry have been hard at work creating new ideas and putting these into action. A drawing competition, Tricky Trivia Tuesday, and a Halloween competition are just some of the happenings around the Boarding House at the moment. Oh, did I forget to mention the billy cart! Thank you, Aiden Credlin for your work here (and a special shout out to dad, Leun Credlin, for whipping up the axles). There is certainly a lot happening and I will continue to share these with the community in the weeks to come.

Boardo Whiteboard Drawing

Over the past two weeks, the whiteboard in the Refectory has been open to the creativity of the boarders, allowing them to fill it with their amazing drawing skills. It was excellent to see so many different boarders contributing to the collage of images, filling up the whiteboard with unique illustrations. This ranged from cartoon characters, animals, footy team logos, tractors, and more. Although there were many excellent drawings, the winner of the drawing competition was Luke Pickering, with his detailed drawing of a harvester.

Halloween Competition

Last week, we celebrated Halloween with a traditional ‘mummy wrap’ at dinner. We would love to congratulate our winner here, but it is slightly difficult to actually know who won. We suspect it was one of Year 11 boys… maybe Yong Seuong?
