Wellbeing & Engagement

Today is a great day to be you!

Rangeview School Fair

This weekend! We can’t wait to see all of the Rangeview school community (and hopefully many others!) coming along to the Fair this Sunday, November 13th. It all kicks off at 10:00am, and we encourage you to come and spend some time engaging with everything on offer until it wraps up at 3:00pm.

I’ll be taking my turn on the ‘Dunk a Teacher’ - so I’m hoping for this sunshine and warmer weather to continue so I can dry out afterwards!

A huge shout out to our Parents & Friends committee who have worked so hard behind the scenes putting together this amazing day. We are so grateful to have such a dedicated and hard working parent community who are willing to go above and beyond to provide such a wonderful experience for our children and families. Thank you.

Resilience Project - student data

As you would be aware, this year we began a partnership with The Resilience Project in order to support our students’ mental health and wellbeing coming back to school full time after two highly interrupted years.

The aims of the program are to improve wellbeing, resilience and emotional literacy through a focus on:

  • Gratitude
  • Empathy
  • Mindfulness

As a staff group, we have seen many positives come out of this program across the year - but it is always nice to be able to back up our observations and daily interactions with our students with quantifiable data!

At the beginning of the year, all students across the school took part in a survey that investigated their understanding of the key Resilience Project concepts. Our classes are now completing the ‘post-test’ aspect of this survey, and initial results are extremely pleasing. Not all classes have completed this yet - we are looking forward to digging deeper into the data once we have gathered all responses.

A quick glance at the classes who have completed the post-test survey do show that the work we have put into developing our students' understanding of these concepts has had a measurable impact. We look forward to continuing this partnership in 2023.

Cyber Safety - Digital Wellbeing

Living in the digital world is the reality for many of our students - and how to safely and responsibly navigate this interactive, online world can be a huge challenge. Digital wellbeing is a very 'real' concept in this day and age, and one that as parents and educators, we need to closely monitor and support.

Over the coming weeks - and beginning today - the Cyber Safety Project are offering free webinars for families that will cover a range of important topics.

Wednesday November 9th - First Mobile Phone Webinar - https://cybersafetyproject.com.au/tc-events/first-mobile-phone/

Tuesday November 22nd - Online Gaming Safety Webinar

https://cybersafetyproject.com.au/tc-events/online-gaming-safety/

Monday November 28th - Digital Balance & Wellbeing Webinar

https://cybersafetyproject.com.au/tc-events/digital-balance-and-wellbeing/

These webinars would provide valuable learning for any family, but would be particularly beneficial for families with students in Year 3 or above.
