Level 5/6

Level 5 and 6 News

During the past few weeks Level 5 and 6 students have embraced the opportunity to participate in their first few sessions of Bike Education. It has been wonderful to see the students bringing their bikes to school and eagerly taking part in each session that is providing them the opportunity to learn about safe riding behaviours, road rules and riding in a shared environment. Bike Education uses practical lessons to ensure riders have the physical abilities to ride safely and independently.

Oktoberfest was another highlight and we were thrilled to see how well the older students took on leadership roles throughout the day and supported the younger students when working in multi age rotational groups. The students loved the opportunity to dress up and we congratulate all the best dressed winners from each Level 5 and 6 class.

Science has been a big part of our learning this term and the students have loved writing up their science reports including the title, aim, hypothesis, and materials prior to their lesson each week. They have then particpated in a range of chemical science experiements and following much discussion they have completed their reports to include the methos and conclusions.

Level 6 have started writing legacy letters as a part of their final year at Rangeview. They have looked at letters from students in previous years and have begun thinking about their own ideas. The Level 5 students have been completing their own writing tasks this week as they begin their persuasive Leadership pieces in preparation for 2023. We look forward to sharing some of these with you in future newsletters.
